Abbey Riverside
The Abbey Riverside intervention is one special project which has the potential to set the standard for brownfield development in County Towns.
With proposals for both banks of the river, it delivers on the vision for Ennis 2040 and achieves many of the 'actions' set out in relation to placemaking, investment, mobility and the environment as follows:
- A location for modern retail formats in the Town Centre
- A new educational quarter within the Town Centre
- A waterfront development which addresses the River Fergus
- A landmark building within the Abbey Street car park
- A high-quality public plaza of scale
- A scheme that incorporates green initiatives
- A mix of retail, office and civic uses co-located in the heart of the Town
- Reduced need for use of the private car
